Ellen Rohr

Ellen Rohr’s passion for business literacy began when she nearly sunk her own family’s business. Through the help of wonderful mentors, she learned how to keep track of the money — and make more of it. In turn, she has helped hundreds of entrepreneurs start, fix and grow their companies. She is president and founder of Bare Bones Biz, a business training and consulting company, and for more than 10 years, she has been a contributing editor for PM magazine’s “Small Shop Talk” columns. Her consulting work led to a position as president of Benjamin Franklin Plumbing, a home service plumbing franchise. On her watch, the company grew from zero to $40 million in sales, becoming the 18th fastest growing franchise in 2003. Ellen is also the author of three business basics books. She has sold over 40,000 copies of “Where Did the Money Go? – Accounting Basics for the Business Owner Who Hates Numbers,” and “How Much Should I Charge? – Pricing Basics for Making Money Doing What You Love.” Her latest endeavor is called The Bare Bones Biz Plan (currently available as an e-book), a simple, easy-to-implement program for crafting your vision and turning it into a successful business.

Dan Holohan began his love affair with older heating systems in 1970 by going to work for a New York-based manufacturers representative that was deeply involved in the steam and hot-water heating business. He writes for PM, PMEngineer, and Supply House Times magazines. His articles have also appeared in Old-House Journal. He's written 15 books on subjects ranging from steam- and hot-water heating, to teaching technicians. His degree is in Sociology, which Dan believes is the perfect preparation for a career in heating. From Maine to Hawaii, and from Florida to Alaska, Dan has taught over 200,000 people at his seminars. He is well known throughout the heating industry for his entertaining, anecdotal style of speaking. Dan lives on Long Island with his wife, The Lovely Marianne.
